Five Ways To Bring More Creativity Into Your Life

We tend to focus on other parts of our life more than the creative side. Meetings, obligations, bills, chores all demand our attention and time, so where do we even find the time or the energy for creativity.
You need to realize that it does not take a lot of time to expand your creative mind-set. Even small amounts of time can make a difference. There are some easy methods that you can use even when your time is limited to recapture your creativity.
You need to try new things frequently. Our lives are filled with a sameness of sorts. We do the same things day in and day out. The same job, the same activities the same routine.
Everything seems to be done on autopilot because our mind is in a trance of some kind. The more this continues the more we forget what our lives could be like. Make sure that your routine does not become mundane; you can awaken your mind and your creativity by shaking your routine up a bit.
Major changes are not needed, all you have to do is shop in a different store, eat at a different restaurant, or take a different route to work. Commit to doing at least one new activity each week and you will find that your creative mind becomes more active.
Start looking at things from another viewpoint. Every day take a little time and really pay attention and SEE what is around you. Lay in the grass and study the insects that you can see, then turn over on your back and stare up at the clouds…what do you see? Pay attention to the people and items that are around you.
When was the last time you really LOOKED? Does everything just blend into the background because you are so focused on other things that have priority in your life? Did you notice that your friend has a brilliant smile, or that the sun seems to be dancing in and out of the clouds?
Can you smell the fresh cut grass and the scent of the coming rain? Watch and examine everything more closely and you will suddenly realize that you are seeing a lot more than you did before.
Look for a way to let you creativity out. A number of us steer clear of creative activities because we don’t think that we have the time. Well, it doesn’t take a lot of time to get enjoyment from engaging your creative side.
You can always squeeze in 10 or 15 minutes to paint, sing, dance, write or stitch every day, it does not require that you abandon your responsibilities and obligations.
Just a few minutes can seem like hours when you are doing something you really enjoy doing, so even such a small amount of time can make a difference.
You may decide that you want to spend more time in your creativity by getting rid of an activity that you don’t enjoy as much, or by watching less television, sometimes it may be worth changing jobs in order to gain more free time to devote to your creative side.
Acknowledge the streak of creative inspiration in all things. Have you ever stopped to think about how products and inventions that we use and see every day are conceived?
Look around your house, from the kitchen appliances to the artwork, and think about the methods used to create these items. Now who would have contemplated and created a can opener or a bottle opener?
Where did the idea come from to put paper towels on a roll for easier storage? Can you think of something that could make life easier? Can you think of anything that will improve on products we already have?
No matter if you act on these ideas or not is not important. What is important is that you are thinking more creatively and tapping into your own creative side.
Open up your mind and let your creativity flow. We do not spend enough time feeding our creative mind positive ideas therefore we feel as if we have been shut off from our creative self.
Read and learn more and open the potential in your life. Take the time to open and expand your mind to new possibilities.
Go to an art gallery or museum, read a book that inspires you, listen to music that stimulates your being. Center your attention more on positive and uplifting materials. It won’t be long before you will be dying to let your creativity loose.
Tap into your creativity in the way that works to your advantage, there is no right and wrong way to do so. These ideas can be used as they are, you can alter them to better suit your situation, or use them as a starting point for your own creative thoughts. By focusing more on your creativity you will be able to make better use of your natural creative self.
