Change Your Perceptions To Change Your Life
“Men are not prisoners of fate, but prisoners of their own minds.” - Franklin D. Roosevelt
Whether or not you believe it, you might not realize that how you think can affect how you act; in turn, this can affect what happens to you.
For example, if you’re fearful that something might happen, it’s much more likely that that thing is going to happen to you, not necessarily because of magical “energy” that works against you, but simply because oftentimes, you bring exactly that which you fear into fruition by your own actions. In short, your perceptions can affect and even actually help create your reality.
The way you see the world around you can help determine how you feel about yourself, your talents and potential, and your progress, as well as how “lucky” those are around you.
If you’re convinced, for example, that you’re less lucky than other people are, you might think that you don’t have as many opportunities as other people do. If you feel like the world is against you, you may always think that you will lose out no matter what you do.
What might happen, then, if you change your perception from one of negativity to one of positivity? What if you thought that instead of the world always being out to “get you,” you had limitless opportunities to do whatever you wanted? What if you thought you could be happy by your own choosing?
What if you thought you could succeed simply because you had the talent and drive to do so? These perceptions are exactly what you need to have in order to achieve exactly what you want. Although you might think this is living in denial, in fact, your thoughts do control your actions, which in turn will control your results.
In short, your thoughts have the power to make your life exactly what you want it to be; you can chose positivity and have it be fun and exciting, or you can choose negativity and always be frustrated and unhappy.
Therefore, what it boils down to is that you can choose how you view any situation. You have two choices, and you can see each situation or challenge as positive or negative.
You can choose to see the potential, challenge, and opportunity for growth in each situation, or simply see each as a struggle you have to endure, only to fail in the end.
Which side of each challenge or situation you face do you choose to see? Positive, or negative? Challenge and opportunity, or hardship? Empowerment, or hindrance? You alone have the choice; which will you choose, today?
