The Nature of the Mind and Affirmations
February 19, 2008
A very important yet tough question to answer is why do affirmations work. A number of people are simply comfortable that they work they do not care why or how. However there are others that look for an explanation in everything.
To consciously program your mind to function in the way you want you use affirmations. In order to do this you have to understand that your mind works in two different ways.
There are two parts to your mind, the conscious part and the subconscious part. The conscious part is what you use daily.
It is joined to the external world and keeps up with everything that is going on around you. Your conscious mind to keeps a diary of what is going on around you and seems to keep a conversation going inside your head at all time.
For example: “Okay, first I need to go get groceries, then I’ll come home and get the dishes done… Oh, I almost forgot, I need to make sure and get an anniversary card, I wonder if I will see them before then or if I should mail it. That reminds me, I need to get some stamps…” [Continue Reading]
The Importance of Affirmations
November 28, 2007
The majority of people have heard of affirmations. They may have even heard that the foundation for self-improvement techniques is affirmations. However, in reality very few people use affirmations in their life. Do you use affirmations, or are you one of the many that do not?
People tend to overlook the need for affirmations when they set out on a new path to self-improvement. This is really a shame when affirmations can and do have a revolutionary effect on your life and goals. It is possible that you will find yourself stuck in a rut and not progressing without the proper affirmations.
Positive declarations, statements and judgments are affirmations. An affirmation is when you make a statement that you declare to be true. When you use affirmations, be sure to use present tense phrases and positive tone and words.
Using words such as “don’t” and “can’t” or other such negative terms will produce problems or difficulties instead of helping you to achieve your goal. So instead of affirming “I can’t pay these bills,” you would affirm “I have plenty of money to pay by bills.” You should continually use positive affirmations on a daily basis. [Continue Reading]
Add One Little Word To Your Affirmations For BIG Impact
October 15, 2007
The foundation of self-improvement begins with affirmations. Upbeat and encouraging phrases encourage the positive thoughts, feelings and actions that you need to bring your goals to fruition.
You can reprogram yourself for victory with the correct use affirmations, or you can program yourself for defeat by using the wrong or incorrect affirmations.
How you phrase your affirmation is a big part of how your mind receives it. You should always phrase it in a positive, here and now way and with conviction. For example, “I am fit and healthy” is much better to say than “I don’t want to be fat”.
You should speak your positive affirmation out loud and not just think it and you should repeat it numerous times through out the day. With your continual use of positive affirmations you will notice how your goals will slowly start becoming reality.
When you are repeating “I am fit and healthy”, doubt is normal …especially when you are looking in the mirror and see someone that is overweight and not in shape while repeating your affirmation. Do not let your doubts get to you and do not beat yourself up over them, they are normal …instead, just repeat your affirmation again with even more conviction. [Continue Reading]
